APPLICATION PROCESS

Submit an inquiry to Navy Medical Portsmouth

  1. Begin by navigating to Search Jobs
  2. Find the job you are interested in and select Inquiry
  3. Fill in all information boxes and click Submit
  4. You will receive a confirmation email that your information has been submitted and you will be contacted for a prescreening interview

After submitting an inquiry, you will need to submit an official application on USA jobs or the Department of the Navy website.

Submit an official application to USA jobs

  1. Visit http://www.usajobs.opm.gov
  2. Create a new account
  3. Select Create a Resume and complete all noted sections
  4. Select Active Resume, which will make your resume searchable
  5. Select the Search Jobs tab at the top of the page
  6. Use appropriate search criteria to find the job in NMCP you want to apply for
  7. Select the job of interest
  8. Select Apply Online at the bottom of the page
  9. Under the Resume heading, select the appropriate resume to attach to the application
  10. Select Apply for This Position Now
  11. A confirmation page will appear once submission is complete

Submit an official application to the Department of the Navy

  1. Visit https://chart.donhr.navy.mil
  2. Create a new account
  3. Select My Resume
  4. Select Build Your Resume and complete all noted sections
  5. Select the Search for Jobs tab
  6. Use appropriate search criteria to find the job in NMCP you want to apply for
  7. Select the job of interest
  8. Select Apply Now at the top of page
  9. Select pay plans and grades (view demo if unfamiliar with these terms) and click Submit
  10. Select Submit Resume
  11. Under Action on the left side of page, select Submit Resume again
  12. A confirmation page will appear once submission is complete
