LUANNE COPELAND
HEALTH SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

I have worked on the civilian side of the military for 28 years. I started my civilian career at the VA hospital and after seven years requested to transfer to NMCP. I worked as a lab transcriber for three months and then moved to a job in records as a supervisor for patient administration.

I was in this position for four years before moving to a job in command evaluation. After five years I moved to manpower and a year later transferred to Resources Directorate, where I sit today.

My career path is proof of the opportunity NMCP has to offer. NMCP rewards and recognizes good, hardworking people, which is why I have stayed here for so long.

To succeed at NMCP you must be comfortable with change and always happy to tackle a new challenge. It's a place where every day is different including systems, people and challenges. It's a bit more complicated because we are a military facility, so we have to do things differently, which means changes, challenges and constant new beginnings.
