VISION INSURANCE

FEDVIP provides supplemental vision insurance coverage. There is no government contribution to the premiums for this coverage; however, premiums are paid on a pre-tax basis. Most Federal employees are eligible to enroll.

Vision plans will provide comprehensive eye examinations and coverage for lenses, frames and contact lenses. These plans do not have separate rating areas as they each charge a nationwide rate.

You have 60 days from the date of your appointment to elect to participate in the plan. You will make your election for vision coverage directly with BENEFEDS. You can contact a BENEFEDS Customer Service Representative by calling 1-877-888-3337 , 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, Eastern Time; or by email at info@ltcpartners.com. The TTY number for the hearing impaired is 1-877-889-5680. You can access information and resources regarding the FEDVIP program online at www.benefeds.com. You cannot enroll in a FEDVIP plan using EBIS.
